Why Emaho?

Emaho is a Tibetan-Sanskrit, free-spirited exclamation from the Dzogchen teachings, the path of self-liberation that enables the discovery of one’s true nature. It expresses surprise, wonderment, a miraculous realization. Lama Surya Das explains that it cannot be correctly translated—he offers the example of “Eureka” or “Hey.” How would you render these English words in other languages?

Emaho is the prelude to an immediate poetic experience—an experience that can be explored by being in the moment, it’s beyond the limitations of expression through words, and it’s similar to spontaneous enlightenment.

Emaho Strategies encourages mindset shifts that lead to new realizations, perceptions, interpretations, unexpected insights—and enable us to discover our true nature.
